Earnings & Payouts
Getting paid for your work should be straightforward and transparent. Here is everything you need to know about how earnings work on OpenScouter.
Pay Rates
Each accessibility test takes around 15 minutes and pays £6. If you complete a set of 5 tests, you earn £30 in total.
That works out to an effective rate of £24 per hour, which you can achieve by working consistently through available tests.
How Payouts Work
OpenScouter uses Stripe Connect to handle all payments. Your earnings are held in your connected Stripe account and paid out in GBP (British Pounds Sterling).
To receive payments, you need to connect your bank account through Stripe when you set up your tester profile. Stripe handles the transfer directly, so your money goes straight to your bank without any manual steps on your part.
Payout Timing
A payout is created as soon as you complete and submit a test. From that point, funds typically arrive in your bank account within 24 hours.
Stripe may occasionally take slightly longer for first-time payouts while your account is verified, but ongoing payments are reliably fast.
Your Earnings Dashboard
Your earnings dashboard gives you a clear view of what you have made. You can see:
- Your total accumulated pay across all completed tests
- A breakdown of individual test payments, so you can see exactly what each study contributed
You can access your dashboard at any time from your account menu.
Tax Information
OpenScouter does not operate PAYE or make any deductions from your payments. You receive the full amount, and it is your responsibility to keep track of what you earn and declare it if required.
Keeping a note of your payments each month makes this easier at tax time. Your earnings dashboard is a useful record you can refer back to.
