Achievements

Every test you complete contributes to a more accessible web. Achievements help you see how far you have come and celebrate the real impact your work creates.

Badges

Badges are awarded for specific accomplishments. Once earned, they appear permanently on your profile.

Session Champion

Awarded when you complete 3 or more tests in a single day. This badge recognizes your dedication and the sustained focus it takes to provide thorough, high-quality feedback.

Impact Leader

Awarded when your feedback directly contributes to 10 or more confirmed accessibility fixes. Developers act on your reports, and this badge marks the moment your work translates into tangible change.

First Steps

Awarded after completing your very first test. Every expert tester started here. This badge is a permanent reminder of where your journey began.

Detailed Reporter

Awarded when you submit a test with 5 or more barrier reports in a single study. Thorough testers help developers understand the full picture, not just isolated issues.

Streak Keeper

Awarded when you maintain an activity streak of 7 consecutive days. Consistency makes you a reliable voice in the testing community.

Early Adopter

Awarded to testers who joined OpenScouter during its first year. This badge honors the community members who helped shape the platform from the start.

Streaks

Streaks track how consistently you are showing up. There are two streak values displayed on your profile.

Current streak counts how many days in a row you have completed at least one test. If you miss a day, the current streak resets to zero.

Longest streak records your personal best. This value never resets. It is a permanent record of your most consistent run.

Streaks reset at midnight in your local timezone. You do not need to complete multiple tests to keep a streak alive. One test per day is enough.

Levels and Milestones

As you complete more tests, you progress through levels. Each level reflects your experience and the cumulative value you have added to the platform.

LevelTests CompletedTitle

225 testsRegular
350 testsExperienced
4100 testsExpert

When you reach a new level, a milestone card appears on your dashboard and you receive a notification. Your level is visible on your public tester profile, helping study coordinators understand your experience when selecting testers for studies.

Levels never decrease. Progress is always forward.

Impact Counter

At the top of your profile you will find your impact counter. This number represents the total barriers you helped fix across all your tests.

A barrier is counted as fixed when a developer marks an issue you reported as resolved and the fix is verified. This is not the number of barriers you reported. It is the number that were actually addressed as a result of your work.

This distinction matters. It means the counter reflects real-world improvement in accessibility, not just activity volume. When you see that number grow, you are seeing the direct result of your testing reaching people who use assistive technology.

Post-Test Summary Card

After you submit a test, a summary card appears before you return to the study dashboard.

The card shows:

  • The number of barriers you reported in that test
  • Any new badges earned during that test
  • Your updated impact counter
  • Your current streak status
  • Progress toward your next milestone level

The summary card is also a good moment to reflect on what you noticed. If a barrier stood out as particularly significant, you can add a follow-up note directly from the card before it closes.
